Geoff,

I was curious if DVDTalk planned on getting into the publishing business? Like tips and trick manuals, books of dvd reviews, etc. I know that recently places like TechTV have been releasing their own line of books.

Have you considered? I know that I'd buy.

Yes! Matter of fact I've been speaking to editors to jump start a DVD Savant book. Which would be the absolute first thing we'd do - There's so much great stuff he's written and I think putting it all together into a book would really be fantastic.

Past that... Not sure. Definately expolring ideas.

Dude, just hear me out...

DVDTALK: The Breakfast Cereal

Better yet, a whole series of different cereals, like all the monster cereals (Count Chocula, etc.). Here are some ideas:

RandyC Melon Flakes
El Scorch-Os
Betho's Anal Chunks
Nut N' Satan's Boner
GrapeNut (with a picture of Jules on the box)
Honey Bunches of Twikoff
Things-Found-Under-the-Cushions-of-Thunderball's-Couch Crunch
I am Jack(skelton)'s Cereal

"Honey Bunches of Twikoff? I'm not gonna try it."
"You've got to try it."
"I'm not gonna try it. How about Geoff? He'll try it."
"Yeah, Geoff! He'll try anything."
[insert dramatic pause]
"He likes it! Geoff likes it!"

Real content and value add developed by DVDTalk as a book is a great idea. Trying to create a line extension solely based on the name recognition of a website is idiotic. That's my professional experience and based on seeing a website or two try just this.

Those websites that tried it obviously don't know a lick about real business. Geoff seems to be much more wise than that. Demonstrated by the fact that DVDTalk did not put out a book line a couple years ago. Now there is a fine collection of reviews, interesting articles, interviews, etc to support such a venture.

I would love to see either a collection of Cine-Schlocker reviews or just a book by Noel on the genre of movies he covers.

It would be great if one of the members or the owner wrote a book based on the history of the otter forum.

Just between you and me, I am one of the owner's members. Let's keep that on the down low though.
