Madonna pulls a fast one on illegal downloaders!
So, I'm on Kazaa Lite++ (a damn good file-sharing app, get it if you don't have it, the ++ version) and I see a bunch of tracks for Madonna's unreleased new "American Life" album. I download about five of them and listen to them but what do i hear?
Each one has Madonna's voice saying things like, "Thought you were going to get away with it didn't ya? Huh? Tried to sneak by me now didn't ya?" repeated over and over for about four and a half minutes.
Another one says, "What the **** do you think you're doing?" over and over.
And another one repeats "Caught ya". All of these in Madonna's voice.
I thought this was pretty funny that Madonna recorded these and someone leaked them out on the net.
Download them for yourself. I found them on Kazaa Lite ++ under song titles like "X-Static Process", "Nobody Knows Me", "I'm So Stupid", and "Easy Ride".

Madonna has decided to withdraw the violent, anti-war video for her new single "American Life" out of respect for the troops fighting in Iraq. In a statement posted yesterday (March 31) on her official Web site, the singer said the video was filmed before the war started and was not appropriate to air at this time.
"Due to the volatile state of the world and out of sensitivity and respect to the armed forces, who I support and pray for, I do not want to risk offending anyone who might misinterpret the meaning of this video," Madonna said of the clip, which was set to premiere Friday on VH-1.
The video for the title track of a new album shows Madonna wearing military garb next to dancers in camouflage on a fashion runway. At one point, a grenade is thrown in the direction of a lookalike of President Bush. Scenes are intercut with images of war. The video also shows Madonna trapped in a bathroom stall, where she uses a knife to carve "protect me" on the wall.
The artists's accompanying "American Life" album arrives April 22 via Maverick. The single debuted last week at No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Funny follow-up to this story from another site...
4/17/03
Madonna and cohorts are attempting to stifle illegal online distribution of her latest album, "American Life," by uploading MP3 decoys to peer-to-peer networks. These decoys are audio files that, when played, deliver Madonna's own special message to the listener:
"What the f*** do you think you're doing?"

After asking P2P users, "what the f--- do you think you're doing," a few apparently answered her back by hacking her website, and hosting her album. As of now the server is unreachable. You can find a mirror of the defacement here, however. Thanks to Dan for the heads up. Chuckle, chuckle. Now back to the weekend's scheduled activities...

Funny...i don't really like it...coming from someone who is rabid. She's getting some really shitty reviews for it as well.
I'd have to say that I just listened to "Music" the other day and the ONLY highlight is Impressive Instant. If I put that on repeat for 50 minutes, I absolutely love the album.

I think I will wait on this one as well. I absolutely loved Ray of Light and then bought Music when it was released. I didn't really care for that one. Even with the new one priced at $10 this week, I'm going to wait to hear some other songs before buying it. Guess I'm finally getting a bit smarter with my money.
