Best XBOX BASEBALL Game????

I'm looking to purchase a baseball game and i keep getting conflicting views of what is really the best? Do any have D/L rosters? (none are XBOXLive correct?)

Also, what has best Franchise feature? The ability to simulate games too....i think i read MVP is good for this...maybe not though.

so, is it:
High Heat 2004
World Series 2K3
All Star
MVP Baseball

I guess i'm leaving towards MVP or 2K3...

THANKS!!!!!

Best franchise mode is All Star Baseball's. And it's had updated rosters available since the date the game hit the shelves.

I've always favored the High Heat series. Gameplay is good and they have a download option for rosters. This is the first time I've played it on a console. I owned all the previous versions on the PC. Since this year, the PC vesion is a just a straight console port, I bought it for the Xbox. Gameplay is solid and they improved the graphics. The console finally has the franchise features that the PC version has always had. The only thing that seems lacking to me is the sound. It's pretty much the same sounds they've been using on previous versions. Other than that I think it's a solid baseball game.

ASB 2004 is the only one that has downloadable rosters via Live, but I would not wish this game upon any person. The franchise mode is the deepest, but for the normal baseball game player it will be way over their head. There are a lot of fundamental gameplay problems with ASB and it just isn't a "fun" game in my mind. This is strictly for the statisticians out there.

This brings it down to MVP and WSB. MVP is a great game to just pick up and play, but the franchise mode is lacking, such as the ability to sim multiple games at one time. In this game you have to go through each game, pick a pitcher and choose whether to sim or play the game.

WSB is the best all-around game in my opinion, so I would go with WSB.

I will soon have all my reviews for these 3 games up on the site I work for. MVP and WSB are already posted...ASB should be coming up in the next few days.

If you're looking for the most realistic game, bar none IMO, it's High Heat. If you want homerun fests, etc. you might wanna try the others.

AgtFox - you can sim a whole year if you want in MVP. Go to schedule, advance ahead and select sim to this date...its pretty easy,

Anyway,

I am in the same predicament, I played MVP and like the throwing style, but didnt like much else about it. I hate how the rosters are only 40 man, and there are no minor leagues. I think I am leaning towards WSB because it has minors, just AAA, but I think have AAA, AA and A (High heat) might get annoying after a while. I also think it has the best graphics of any of the four out there.

I got 2K3, the game is great. Franchise mode starts with you hiring a whole new staff for your team, it's really cool. Also you can tell your scouts where to look for prospects (foriegn, team, domestic..).

2K3.

The only problem I have with it is that there are too many hits and too many homeruns. That said, the scores are still realistic.

Would have sworn I tried that, but thanks for the heads up. I don't have the game anymore (I rented it) or I would try this.

Did you go into options and change the difficultly. There is a lot less hits. My brother nad I have some battles. Throwing shutouts and 3 hitters sometimes.

WSB 2k3 is really customizable, between the difficulty settings, the pitch speed, all of the gameplay sliders, cursor size, batting type etc. You can basically make it play like realistic baseball, an arcadey type game, or anywhere in between. Graphically it's the best of the bunch too.

Hard to implement and get out on time. There is an Xbox Live baseball game coming out in May from Microsoft...Inside Pitch 2003.

I would expect them to already be working on online support (sans EA possibly, since they have stood against Live, but will probably have the PS2 version online) for next years baseball games.

I would also guess all the developers will be looking closely at IP2003 and how the online play works.

World Series 2K3 is the only baseball game in high definition (720p). So graphically speaking, it is the best.

Actually, ASB 2004 is not the ony game with downloadable rosters. From what others have told me High Heat 2004 has the same feature.
