Remember those "interactive" movies where you get to pick the outcome of certain scenes. One of these movies was called Mr. Payback (directed by Bob Gale) in which the audience got the vote on what the main character should do to another person.

But they've mentioned, so there's no point to me posting I guess.
But Groucho IS right, the Peter Pan clap-for-Tinky isn't in the animated movie.

Apart from the myriad drinking games (Withnail & I, Clerks, etc), MST3K-style banter and such, the only so-far-unmentioned film I can think of that required participation would be William Castle's Mr. Sardonicus, which depended on an audience's vote to decide if the villain lived or died. The projectionist would then play the reel with the corresponding choice.
Also, some films have karaoke bits. Hedwig & The Angry Inch has it for a verse. Oh, but with home subtitles... it's one big shemale karaoke extravaganza.

Alot of people these days seem to think EVERY movie requires "audience particpation". Last summer when I saw Spider-Man about five guys behind me kept yelling "YO MAN DUCK!!" during the final fight scene. As if Tobey Maguire is going to look down from the screen and say "Hey thanks! I don't know why I didnt' think of that".

Didn't the movie Clue come out with some gimmick like that, where the audience chose the ending?

DonnachaOne brings up Sardonicus.
I will add many of the other William Castle movies like 13 Ghosts, The Tingler, etc.
Emerg-o is the single funniest/stupidest thing in movie history. Where did he get that name?

Percepto: buzzers in selected seats in the theater (The Tingler (1959))
Illusion-o: ghost viewers were used to reveal or conceal ghosts (13 Ghosts (1960))

Do 3-D movies count? The one that comes to mind was one of the Freddy Kruger films that had the audience put on their glasses whenever a dream sequence came onscreen. I remember seeing it as a kid with about four other people in some hole in the wall theater that managed to screw up the process. :P

Gremlins II has a funny scene suggesting a Gremlin invasion of the movie theater.
