Jak and Daxter 2 Screens
I never played the original (although I will once I have some more time) but I thought some of you might be interested in this story. The graphics look much improved over the last one. This screen in particular impressed me a lot. The detail, textures and colors look fantastic. Wonder if this improvement has to do with that new-fangled PS2 performance analyzer?

Sure the other ones looked impressive when using the engine...but this one looks pretty nasty.

They do look pretty high-res don't they? Maybe Naughty Dog has a new PS2 library that lets you reach higher resolutions on the PS2? On the pic I linked in the first post if you look at Daxter (the little dude), his body looks like their's hair on it... almost like it's bump-mapped. Also the texture for the guys armor on the rightis amazing.
Hey Will Wallace, where did you get those screens from?

I just read IGN's preview of the game. They call it a "must have triple-A title", but there's no oooohing and aaaaahing that I would expect if the game looked like it did in the above screenshots.
Maybe IGN just dropped the ball, but I was expecting some kind of comment on the incredible graphics. This was a hands-on preview too.

Gamespot has a pretty extensive preview along with some high quality screen shots. This city scene and this vista shot really impressed me. It still looks really high res for a PS2 game. More kudos to them I suppose. Did Ratchet and Clank look this good?

Looks good but too bad that's not what we're going to see on our PS2's unless there's a HD PS2 released in the next few months. Remember those ultra high res Vice City screen shots we saw before it came out?

Those are 1024x768 screen grabs, which is actually higher than 720p. Those screenshots contain about 60% more vertical resolution than we're likely to see in the final product.
Can the PS2 do 720p? I thought I read that Soul Calibur 2 would be 720p for XBox but 480 for PS2 (can't remember if it's interlaced or progressive).
