Crash, Thought provoking, or no point?
I was thinking about renting this flick, but have heard many many negetive reviews saying "what was the point" but some have called it one of the best of the 90's.
Whats your thought?

I really didn't like it. With the exception of some very good sex scenes, it was a pretty bad film. Is there a point you may ask? Well, no. Just car crashes and sex. If your into those type of things it's your film, if not.........Well you know.

Anyone else with an opinion.

I have'nt seen this in a few years since it aired on IFC.Pretty slow moving like most Cronenberg films. Not much seems to happen & it left me wondering what all the fuss was about.Sure there are car crash's & sex but not much else. Then again this may be a movie for the really hardcore intellecuals who can find deep meaing in anything.I was left with really nothing at all.Just cold & wondering "umm ooookay" & even laughed at a few moments since the film is dead serious, yet hard to take serious at some parts.
I may give it another chance sometime & may have a different opinion now than then.Yet somehow i doubt it.

No...they aired the complete uncut NC-17 version
They air everything uncut including Man Bites Dog & Bad Leiutenant among others.
Now Sundance Channel is another story. For example when they air The Doom Generation. They show the butchured 70mn R version! They also aired Audition. But i only saw the first hour..thus am not sure if it's the unrated or R version since the gruesome stuff doesn't happen til sometime in the last hour.

I liked Crash. Every once in awhile, I'll see a film and find myself in a haze/caze as I leave the theater. Crash was one of those films. The subject matter and music were both very bizarre and I couldn't get either out of my head for quite awhile. It's definitely worth a rental.
