Whats your favorite cameo by a director in a movie?

Mine is Bob Kurtzman in The Wishmaster.Makes me not want to go near a piano ever again. My fav of a director not directing the movie would be Roger Corman in Silence of the Lambs.

Cronenberg in Jason X and Wasn't Truffaut in Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind.<---- well those were hardly cameos anyways.

Come on, the greatest one EVER has got to be Scorsese in the back of Deniro's cab in Taxi Driver. Awesome stuff.

And can we count the Silent Bob character as one long cameo?

Any cameo by Argento counts as two due to that huge cranium of his.

Nobody mentioned this, but has to be any appearance by the man who perfected the cameo: Hitchcock

Another one for Scorsese in Taxi Driver.

While I don't consider it a cameo since he didn't direct the film, Scorsese is great in Bertrand Tavernier's Round Midnight.

I liked Spielberg in Goldmember.

David Cronenberg's cameo in To Die For is very appropriate for his role.
Spoiler:
The minute I saw it was him, I knew it was a signal that Kidman's character was about to bite the big one. Probably the only one who made that connection at my screening.
