Far From Heaven... Chalk another one up for 2002!

What a beautiful movie. I keep seeing all these films and they just keep on out doing themselves each time.
Far From Heaven is a film about a woman (Julianne Moore) who is married to a respected and rich man (Dennis Quaid) but they go on with their lives each wanting something different. Quaid is a homosexual who tries his best to cure this "disease" of his and his wife falls for the gardener who happens to be a colored man.

The score is very captivating and sounds just like those of films in the 50's and 60's. Julianne Moore was simply amazing. Dennis Quaid was also awesome (how did he not get nominated!?) but the performance that surprised me the most was Dennis Haysbert. Who is this guy? I've never heard of him before (although he reminds me a heck of a lot of Denzel), and he was great.

Far From Heaven is excellent. I dont hear enough people talking about it, probably because noone's really seen it yet. Well you guys all should. Any chance you get, go see this. A real gem.

Dennis Haysbert = Mr. President in 24.

Great film, btw.

Julianne Moore deserves the Oscar. Like I said before, she probably won't get it but deserves it more than anyone.

Dennis Quaid was also great. He definitely is doing better roles than in the past.

My wife and I saw it quite some time ago and both of us were very disappointed. The performances were quite good but the script was just, in a word, tired.

"Up your butt, Jobu!"

He played Pedro Cerrano in the two (well I guess there WERE technically three) Major League films.

Yeah it's really too bad about this film because it's going to
get screwed at the Oscars.

It should have been nominated for Best Picture.
It was on about 100 critics lists as Best Film or one of the best.

Julianne Moore should win Best Actress.

Not Nicole Kidman for her 20 minutes of screen time in The Hours.

Great movie. Cinematography is out of this world.

You actually feel like you're in the era.

Excellent film. Heavily influenced by director Douglas Sirk. Anyone seen his films? Just saw Imitation of Life and a friend tells me All That Heaven Allows is even better. It's about a rich woman that has an affair w/her gardener.

All That Heaven Allows was Todd's main template for the Far From Heaven script.
