Will Buffy/Angel storyline overlap? (Spoilers)
*Put the spoiler warning on just in case*
I just started watching Angel because of Faith, and I was wondering if the two shows are independent now? I mean, I find it hard to believe that the Scoobies would let Willow leave while they are fighting the First... and I was also wondering if Faith will tell Buffy and the gang about what happened in LA, or will her storyline just be a new one when she appears on Buffy?

No, they still take place in the same "universe" as far as I know. The direct crossovers stopped when Buffy went to UPN, though -- part of the deal, I think.
I wouldn't count on much on the way of exposition on things we've already seen. It's not really the show's style. I noticed this when watching Buffy S3.
When Buffy goes to Will's house to confess the accidental killing of the deputy mayor, the scene cuts from Buffy breaking down and crying to after she's told Willow the story.
And again in Dopplegangland, it skips over Buffy and Xander telling Giles about the vamp Willow they saw at the Bronze, and picks up with Giles' reaction to the tale.
But from what I've read in the spoilers, (nothing major, but I'll tag it anyway) the shows seem to very much be connected.
