Is Rodger Dodger a good bling buy?

I remember hearing so much about this movie when it was first released in independent theaters but never got a chance to see it. I sthis movie worth a blind bu or is it a renter? Elizbeth Berkeley throws up caution flags for me.

It's a great flick if you love great dialogue, character work, and On Stage Theater. It felt like a play. Really the whole life force for this movie was the witty dialogue. Loved it, definite purchase for me. I hope they have at least a commentary or some sort of feature on there. Anyone know for sure?

without any exxageration, i can say that Roger Dodger was one of the best movies I saw last year. cambell scott (george c.'s son) was completely robbed of an oscar nomination.

i didn't feel so much that it was like a play. what's great about it is that it's a first time writer/director. so the feel of the movie, just energy wise, is very much like Donnie Darko and Igby Goes Down.

edited to add: i just saw the question about Elizabeth Berkeley and she's actually good in this film, and no way annoying. This isn't like a showgirls or saved by the bell performance, but much more natural like in Any Given Sunday.

Its a very talky flick..I guess the best comparison is Swingers, only not as flashy and not an outright comedy. Give it a chance, you can always take it back if ya didnt like it..^^

The only way to make this disc a good bling buy is if you hung it on a platinum rope and slapped some ice on the label side. Nothing says 'bling, bling' like platinum, rocks and a shiny, dual-layer encoded metal disc bonded between two cool slices of grade-A substrates that have been cured in resin with an ultra-violet bonding process. Fo shizzle!

Word association to me:

Rodger Dodger=Roger Staubach

I guess that is what I get for growing up in the Lone Star state!

I'm a huge fan of Campbell Scott, who just isn't in enough movies these days, so I'm definitely renting this at least.

I don't think this is a good 'blind buy' movie at all.

It was pretty interesting, but mostly just good as a rental.
