Help name this B&W movie

There are 2 movies from my child hood im trying to track down.
Here is the first one.

It was black and white,

For the most part it took place in a family room.

There was some president or senator in town, the family room overlooked the parade route.

At one point in the movie a tv repair man came into the family room to fix the tv.

Then for some reason a sniper took over the family room and set up his rifle in the window to kill the president.

Then i think in the end, the tv repair man connected something to the tripod of the rifle and when he tried to shoot, he was electricuted.

Kinda vauge.... but thats all i got. Any takers?

Sounds like the 1954 movie <b>SUDDENLY</b> with Frank Sinatra and Sterling Hayden - a solid thriller. Incidentally, the title is the name of the small town where all this happens.
