Any preorder deals on the Gameboy Advance SP?

I searched and couldn't find a thread on this.

I bought my first Advance game the other day, Advance Wars, so now I need a player, and figure I'll wait for the SP.

Any deals out there?

There is a $40 dollar trade-in on a GBA towards a puchase of a GBA-sp from EBgames.

Will KBToy's 20% off Toy Club card work on the purchase of GBA SP?

Unfortunately not. I tried this a few days ago, and since the GBA SP is a gaming system and not a game...we can't use the card.

What do you guys think are the odds of me walking into a store on release day and getting one without preordering?

Milo, VERY SLIM. Nintendo did not produce enough units. I got this directly thru my General Manager. Anyone who does not pre-order has a VERY VERY Slim chance of getting it (Each store may be shipped an extra 1 or 2).

No, Target does not have a preorder. They're only running preorders for Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire and Zelda: Wind Waker. And I think both preorders for those are done too.

In any case, just make sure you get to the store early.

ebgames.com lets you preorder with no add'l. purchase. Although their in itial shipment of platinum SP's is sold out; just cobalt ones left. Which is fine for me, as it seems the platinum finish scratches easily.

I purchased 2 sp's from japan. I got a black one and my wife got a cobalt. Well she already dropped hers. It still works and all and the screen wasn't damaged but the case got chipped as hell. I'm just glad it wasn't mine. I don't know how the platinum finish is but the cobalt now has almost "white" freckles. These things are so cool you gotta love the big N.

Probably have a problem at some of the higher profile places like Best Buy, etc, but some local Walmart or Kmart will have them. That's what happened when everyone was going nuts over the dreamcast, PS2, and other releases... people were lined up out the door at Best Buy, but friends of mine stopped in a Kmart and there was a stack of them, without a soul around.

Not that you mention it, I remember walking into a K-Mart a year or two back and picking up one of the Pokemon games that was selling out all over the place, but I picked up two like that.
