Does progressive scan work with 4:3 or just 16:9? Thanks in advance.

Progressive scan has nothing to do with aspect ratio.

Wrong. Progressive DVD is only 480p. 720p is an HDTV format (along with 1080i), and DVD is inherrently a standard definition (480) NTSC format. Neither have a damn thing to do with aspect ratio, though.

To be more specific in answering the original poster's question, progressive scan works on 4:3 TV sets that are capable of displaying a progressive signal. This generally means an HD-ready set, but not necessarily.
