What's the best baseball game?
I am looking for a two baseball games one for my laptop and one for my PS2. Can anyone recommend me a good baseball game? The last baseball game I bought was Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for my Nintendo 64. Thanks in advance.

High Heat has the best AI out of all the baseball games, it is very hard (but rewarding) to score runs, and it is refreshing to see that you can't do stupid tricks against the AI to run up the score.
But the graphics is always a step or two behind the competition.

I've owned the past 5 or 6 All-Star Baseball games and I've been happy with all of them. Unfortunately 2003 was a step backwards but hopefully 2004 will be back on track.
To those who don't like ASB: What recent baseball games have been better?

I was also happy with ASB 2003 (my first time with ASB, by the way). But even if you weren't, if you go to any sports-specific forum, you'll find that those who liked last year's love this year's, some who didn't care for it now like (or even love) it, and those who hated it still do. A large majority, including the former ASB critics, think IGN's review was way off... the typical "IGN's on crack"-type of comment has been very easy to find.
There hasn't been one case of anybody anywhere saying last year's was better, so that's a successful upgrade.
By the way, the franchise lovers among forum-goers keep writing that ASB 2004 has the deepest franchise seen in a console baseball game, almost to the level of some text-based PC products. Yet, if you read some professional reviews, it supposedly is "rather weak" (GMR review, issue 3).
Since Operation Sports's forum now requires a registration to even view ANYthing , if one would like more opinions about ASB, perhaps a trip to the Sports Reviewers forum at http://www.ianstorm.com/Forums/peris...t.asp?Do=frm74 would be interesting.

I would suggest getting it or High Heat which is the best true Baseball sim.

If you liked ASB 2003, the choice may be an easier one than expected.
I know of some rabid baseball gamers who returned 2003 just a couple of days into their 14-day EB return period last year who now, after a few days of playing, think that this year's version may have outsimmed High Heat, which I never would have imagined.
It's safe to say that most think that the bar has been set much higher than expected by Acclaim this year (although you'd never know it by some reviews... IGN's, for instance, where the reviewer's incompetence has him repeatedly throwing to home instead of first. A child could grasp the concept of releasing the 'A' button long after the pitch has been thrown, then pressing the correct button just before it reaches the fielder).
Here's hoping that someone manages to top it, though. I love this wide-open competition... too bad every sport doesn't have it.

I probably should put the controller down , getting off my fat ass, and pick up a bat ...
MOD EDIT: Post slightly edited. If you have nothing to contribute and would like to thread crap, at least do it something like the above.

World Series Baseball 2K3 is just a new version Triple Play, ain't it?
I remember High Heat having the option of different home plate umpires for each game, which makes the strike zone different for each game, which is a great option..anyone know if 2004 still has this option??
