Kingpin 2/16/03

ok episode. Seems like they're just setting things up for the finale Tuesday.

I was laughing at the scene with Benben's character and Junie going to get guns and the part with Eddie Winslows mom yelling at him for flushing the coke down the toliet and taking it from him.

I was surprised how graphic the scene in the prison bathroom was.

My jaw dropped during the prison scene. I wasn't expecting it at all. I remembered the preview last week said something shocking would happen to Chato but I thought they just meant he would be beaten. The scene following that up when Chato says to Miguel, "What would you do if they raped Marlene?" was quite well-done.

And, I agree, the scene at the funeral home was very funny. The guy selling was great.

I was a little disappointed with the sudden disappearance of Joaquin. I was hoping they'd follow that up a little more since he seems to be on the edge about what he wants to do regarding his involvement with La Corporacion.

You call him EDDIE WINSLOW too! That is great! I can never remember that characters name so Eddie works out great.

Also, I thought for sure that they were going to cut his unit off instead of doing what they did. So what do you think, which is worse? Having it cut off or what they did?

Good episode, it will be interesting to see what happens on tues.

Chato was their beeyotch in prison. Hee hee hee. He deserved it for being such a dumbass. Chato definitely thinks with mini-Chato. And Chato is going to bring La Corporacion down.

I wonder how this DEA raid of Truck's ties in with the rest of La Corporacion.

I can't believe it's going to be all over on Tuesday.

Was it the plan all along to only have 8 episodes for this show. I like it a lot and would love to see more of it. Will it be back next year, or is this one of those mini-series movie deals? Thanks

6 episodes. Yes, that was the plan all along. But NBC is using it to test the waters. They haven't made a decision yet whether they're going to order more episodes or not. The decision should come in the next couple weeks after Tuesday's finale.

Maybe I'm being optimistic, but...

The fact that they're producing and selling a DVD set of the show seems to indicate that they believe in it, at least provisionally.

Of course if the set stiffs (at that price, it might), it might be the final straw.

The show is good, but that set is over-priced for six damn episodes!

The Chato prison scene was very surprising! Didn't see that coming, but I loved how all Mickey's guards just walk into the jail w/ all of their hardware and hand the Chief the phone to get Chato out of jail.

The Doc and Junie are a great pair - and the casket gun fair was a hilarious scene - best part of the show, imo.

I finally got a chance to watch this episode and enjoyed it. From the preview for the finale it looks like Chato doesn't kill the police chief. His use of the knives was pretty creative though.

I really wish they had more episodes to develop the Houston storyline with the Doc and Junie. Truck and his operation are going down in the finale and Truck will tie in with the Doc to lead the DEA back to La Corporacion methinks.

Not enough episodes!

And $44 for the DVD, they must be smoking crack!

The police chief is going to have no use for his wife after what Chato might have done to his cajones.
