I was also going to post about the "Boomtoon" parallel.
You're right, das. This is "Law and Order" without the lawyers. Hell, just put the Assistant D.A. in the interrogation room in the last half of the episode and you're done!
This was my first time watching the show. I was surprised to see that Frank was played by the kid who co-starred with Ed O'Neill in Dutch back in the day.

and the narator is the same. I heard the guy who says "in the criminal justice system...." on L&O at some point last night on Dragnet

I think Profiler did something pretty similar as well. They set it in Boston, and had the yuppies send it out over the 'net via PPV.....

It was alright, tho there were times where O'Neil's character (Friday?) seemed a little too "hip." Can't remember the exact times, but he made references to things that I wouldn't expect that type of character to know.
I really liked the way that the voiceovers were used in this episode... they added more than they did the last episode.
