NFL Fever 2003, worth $10?

I have a friend that's willing to sell me NFL Fever 2003 for only $10? Should I buy it or spend the extra $10-15 and get NFL 2k3?

Well, I don't have an XBox, but I do have NFL 2K3 for Gamecube and love it. In addition, gamerankings.com lists NFL 2K3 as the #5 ranked game for XBox; it lists NFL Fever 2003 as #86.

Looks like NFL 2K3 is $25-30 new on the web; I'd probably spring for the extra few bucks and get the real deal, might even be able to find it used for less (I got a mint copy - never rented according to the clerk - at Blockbuster for @$17 during one of their recent promos).

I'm a Madden fan myself, but I've played some Fever 2003 at a friend's and I really really hate it. It doesn't feel much like football to me, but I'm probably far too fixed on the Madden style of play (although I did quite enjoy the NFL 2k3 I played for a while).

For 10 bucks, I'll almost try anything, but not that. Although I don't have Xbox live, so as the previous post said that probably would make a big difference in my preference. If you don't have any other football games and don't have Xbox live, I'd recommend Madden 2002 which I'm pretty sure can be found for less than 10 bucks used at EBgames or Gamestop.

The 2K series is also worth a look. I know I dislike the Madden football style so it's not for everyone.

It is worth $10. Easily, it is however the 3rd best football game on the XBOX, 2K3 being the best and Madden being #2.

At one time, a new NFL2K3 could be had for 14.99. On sale at CC for 19.99 and then the $5 BB coupon that I know you all have a pile of.

I'm sure it will be available for 19.99 or less soon.

The single player alone is worth $10. I liked it better than 2k3. I loved 2k1 but didn't like 3 weird. Fever seemed easier to pick up and play with limited football knowledge

And that's the difference. Fever is more arcade-y, and 2k3 is more realistic. More realistic games tend to be better in the long run, but are harder to simply pick up and play. Overall 2K3 is the best. It has the highest score for a 2003 footbal game on xbox on both gamespot & ign.

Ah Screw it, i'm going with NFL 2K3. I loved NFL 2k1 and 2 for Dreamcast and figure 3 wouldn't hurt to buy.

It's worth it if...

1. You're not a big football game and want a less complex game that doens't require as much football knowledge.

2. You play a lot of multiplayer with casual type gamers. Fever, in my limited experience, seems a lot easier to pick up and play the first time than madden or the 2K series, making it a good party game.

I hate acrad-y type games. Was never that big a fan of Blitz and all those rip-off type games. So NFL 2K3 It Is.
