What show is in its prime?
every thread talks about how the show has "jumped the shark" or how it used to be better a few seasons ago or whatever.
so which shows do yall think are actually in their prime?

Here are some shows I think are better now than they have ever been:
Angel
Alias
Shows that are just as good as they have ever been:
The Shield
Smallville
Last Sunday's episode of The Practice was a more solid episode than we have been seeing throughout the rest of this season. Maybe the show will make a comeback before it is cancelled?

I'd agree with Smallville. I'll hold off on Alias until a few more eps into the new direction.
Of course, these are only in their second season and should be in their prime (otherwise they'd already be cancelled for another reality tv show). As are 24 and Shield, though I think Scrubs is 3rd or 4th year, right?
I don't have cable, but I've heard this season of Soprano's isn't as good, and I've heard very little about West Wing this season.

I agree, it's hard to say about any show that's been on less than 2 years and Scrubs is in it's 2nd season also.
I'd probably say Angel and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

i'd hate to say any of my favorite shows are in their prime, because by saying this it would be saying it is all down from here. so i will say sabrina the teenage witch.

To me, for a show to be in its prime, it has to have been on a few years. So this disqualifies great shows like Alias, 24, Scrubs and The Shield. I think that King Of Queens is in its prime, and Buffy could very well be, since it has been great season so far.

i was gonna put that stipulation in the first post but for some reason didnt....it has to be atleast in its third season. if its gone down hill from season one it'll get tanked quick (like dark angel). but if its in its 6th or 7th and goes down hill, the network will probably give it a couple of years to die slowly.

i will reiterate my previous post, as well. under the guideline that by prime i just mean a show that is having a really good show now relative to the past.
i think mr. sterling is in its prime. jp.
in their prime:
buffy may very well be as this season is great thus far.
the addition of sabrina lloyd to ed has been the best ed we have ever seen (well her first 2 eps, the last was kinda lacking).
jumped the shark:
friends is at a lower point then when it started.
gilmore girls recently got kicked off my to watch list, as it has bored me this season.
will & grace - the recurring role of leo is detracting from the show as is grace not living with will. i don't see it getting much better.
dawson's creek - i am glad it is ending, and i hope they do it on a higher note than the last few episodes.
charmed - they have to put alyssa milano in something skimpy in every episode to get anyone to watch (even though rose mcgowan is looking much more tempting recently). the writing has gotten bad.
reality tv - aside from surreal life, all other shows fit under the reality sucks so reality tv sucks column.
neither:
west wing is having a good season, but the last couple lead me to believe last season was better.
my wife and kids - not since the cosby show has an african american family attracted such a wide audience
shows doing good but still young:
scrubs - currently the best sitcom writing on tv
good morning miami - i'll take any heat anyone wants to give me about this
american dreams - best new show this season
24 - first season was top notch
okay so my post was all over the place, i got bored.

My favorite drama of all time. However, even though it has definitely improved over last season (which was the worst of the series), it is still not close to what I call its prime which was basically Seasons 5-10 (particularly 7 & 8).
