How is the Akira (anime) dts version?

I have the original non se and I think the japanese track is too soft and doesn't have any energy in it. While the english 5.1 is an improvement in terms of effect sounds and the rears, I can't stand the dub on this dvd. So how is it.

I haven't heard the DTS version myself, but I can direct you to a couple of good threads-

There is a thread on here somewhere where I commented that the DTS version is awesome.

A lot more sound from the surrounds than the Dolby Digital version. It might be under the DVD Talk sectioninstead of the DVD Reviews section.

The japanese dts version is incredible. True demo material. I recommend teting it out. Most dvd players let you toggle thru the audio while the movie is playing. Try it with this dvd , the difference is night and day.

Is this version better than the SE version? I'm considering picking it up with the DDD sale tomorrow.

Wrong forum.

This forum is about disc reviews. If you have questions about a specific feature, please post it in the DVD Talk Forum. This is actually in your best interest - you're likely to get more responses there, with a specific question like this.
