Im sorry if this post has alreay been discussed. Im new to this.

What is the comparable Kenwood model to the Onkyo HT-S650 and what is the cheapest price for either model. I really want the Onkyo but I know it costs much more. Thanks in advace for any help.

The speakers that now come with the Onkyo HT-S650 are the same as the speakers (with different grills) that came with the Kenwood HTB-503 a few years ago (except the sub).

My first home theater was the HTB-503. While not a bad package, I wouldn't rate the speakers very highly. They just don't sound as good as I would have liked. I ended up replacing them after 6 months with some Infinity speakers.

It's kind of hard to compare with these small pictures, but you can see they are the same:

Anyway, go to the store and listen to them yourself. Compare them to other systems.

the identical speakers from the two is quite a revelation.

i am also deciding between the two which is better. the 505 is cheaper by few bucks only. personally, onkyo commands a stronger reputation in the home theater arena.

I have owned both and prefer and can def tell the difference (in their respective price range) that the onkyo is a much better reciever.
