so, was this show aired on HBO in widescreen?
I don't get HBO, so I wouldn't know.

I watched most of the dvd set over the weekend.

It has a VERY clean full-frame transfer. Really cool menues, to boot.

I love everything HBO, unfortunately it's too expensive. My expensive-boxset budget is now going towards completing the first seven seasons of The X-Files.

I would also like to see it but its a pricey blind buy so I will most likely try to pick up through a trade.

okay, stupid question...

How do you open this thing? I just got mine, and unwrapped it, and the seal at the top...is that a peelable sticker? do i bend it until it gives? It doesn't seem to be showing me the way...

The top is a hinge not a sticker. Don't peel it off or cut it. The case opens from the bottom.

The packaging is pretty cool you just lift the box open from the bottom and it pushes the set out (kind of like some cigarette boxes) The set itself is a great representation of the hard work that goes into this series.
I find it oddly rewatchable as I have seen all of the episodes already on HBO (multiple times even)
Truly accomplished television and a classy set I just wonder if the MSRP isn't due to the SWANK package.... extras are choice varied with too few commentaries on the whole. Very much worth owning IMO.

They missed the boat on this one. The box should have come in the shape of a coffin. With the lid opening as one as well.

Kidding of course.

I too have been watching this since purchasing it the day it came out. Wish it were widescreen, but oh well. As mentioned above, the picture is perfect. And the show itself....superb. Gets better with every viewing (no pun).

Wow. I just finished watching season 1 last night and I must say that this is the best show I have seen in a long long time....probably since Twin Peaks. I don't get HBO so I just wait to buy their shows when they come out on dvd. I was not sure if I should get these dvds as a "blind buy" or whatever, but I sure am f**king glad I did It will be a long painful wait until Season 2 comes out on dvd...I wish they would catch the dvd releases up to the season they will be currently airing!! (like HBO did with The Sopranos)....that was of course facilitated by The Sopranos taking a year off, but still I don't see why Six Feet Under Season 2 can't come out over the summer!!
