What do you guys think about this book? I mean, transcripts and interview statements? Autopsy reports and testimony? Is this stuff the producers/writers came up with for this author or something? I just don't get what it's based on. It just seems so random and made up, as if anyone with an imagination and writing experience could've done.

I haven't had the chance to go to Barnes & Noble yet, but I've read some positive things about the book on another board, so I probably will pick it up. Yes, it deals with the aftermath of season 1. Here's what someone posted at TWOP:
If anyone's wavering, I would definitely suggest picking the book up. The hour-by-hour recaps are actually "testimonies" by people like Jack, Kim, Tony and Teri (compiled from the debrief tapes at the safe house) and they're pretty insightful. Basically, all of Nina's actions that appeared helpful throughout the day are explained in light of her mole-ness (and in a much better way than that highly publicized "dossier" that came out shortly after the revelation in last season's penultimate episode).
Also, we get the answers to a lot of unanswered questions, such as;
* Was "Ted Coffell" actually an American investment banker, a Serbian terrorist or both?
* How Jayme was recruited to work for Ira Gaines (this one is kinda cool - they were closer than you might have thought).
* How Rick and Dan got involved in an elaborate assasination/kidnapping plot.
* Why Teddy Hanlin was picked as Jack's backup (and who picked him) at the courtyard.
* What happened to folks like Rick, Alberta, Dr. Phil, Lauren Brokovich and Theo Huxtable after the events of the day.
Sadly, the book merely speculates on Nina's true background and allegiance, which leads me to believe the writers are saving that trump card for the future.
But yes, we do see Tony's defense of Jack and Jack's anger with Mason.
This is without a doubt a great bridge between the two seasons. Here's hoping they release another book next year!

Sure, it's http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com
Just choose the link in the upper right hand corner to the 24 forum.
(I wasn't sure what the policy was on linking to other boards).
