Today's CDs (1/20)
Got some cds to review today:
1. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Nocturama
2. Jo Alexis - Connection
3. 50 Man Machine - s/t
4. The Music - s/t
5. Viva - Blanksidesongs
I've only heard Nick Cave, which I'm really looking forward to.
Otherwise, I listened Tortoise - TNT as I read Art History and Biology.

Interpol - Turn On the Bright Lights
Kim Richey - Bitter Sweet
Lyle Lovett - Live in Texas
Listening to the Interpol CD for the first time. I liked it this first time, though it'll take a couple run-throughs for me to decide if I really like it.

DVD Talk Hall of Fame
Joe Pernice - "Big Tobacco"
Dan Littleton - "Down By the Riverside"
Hot Hot Heat - "Make Up the Breakdown"
Eels - "Beautiful Freak"
Saw Interpol and Calla last night. Good show, semi-ruined by the way too loud kick drum (on the PA, of course) during Interpol's set.
In other news, I ordered the following CDs this weekend:
Decemberists - "Castaways and Cutouts"
Rivulets - ST
Beck - "One Foot In The Grave"
Jessamine - ST
Bonnie "Prince" Billy - "Master And Everyone"
Delgados - "Hate"
Microphones - "Mount Eerie"
Niblett, Scout - "I Conjure Series"
VA - "All's Fair In Love And Chickfactor: CF Mixtape 1"
VA - "Mollie's Mix"
Future Bible Heroes – "Lonely Robot"
Oldham, Will - "Black/Rich Music"
Out Hud - "S.T.R.E.E.T. D.A.D"
Palace Songs - "Hope"
Rivulets - "Thank You Reykjavik"

I've got Calla's "Scavengers" and Loose Fur (when it is released) coming in the mail.
I'm not too pleased with the new Bonnie "Prince" Billy. Only about 2 or 3 songs grabbed me - the rest didn't do much for me.
Recent Spins:
Brian Eno - "Apollo"
Seam - "The Problem With Me"
Metro Area - s/t
Son Volt - "Trace"
Good news from the past weekend:
-meeting a cool girl
Bad news from the past weekend:
-learning that the Dismemberment Plan is breaking up

Yeah, it is a bummer about The Dismemberment Plan. I'm kicking myself in the head for missing their shows in DC on the 27th and 28th.
Here's the article: http://www.dismembermentplan.com/planset.htm

Glad to see the Calla love! They are very good live. The new album, Televise, which is out today, is good. My least favorite of the three, but it's definitely their most accessible. I piece I wrote about it will be in the Village Voice next week. I'll post a link when it runs.
Today's CDs:
Xiu Xiu -- Knife Play
Liars -- Fins to Make Us More Fish-Like
Vibrators -- Pure Mania
Hoover -- This Lurid Traversal of Route 7
Faust -- Faust/So Far
Black Dice -- Troubleman EP
Lftr Pllr -- Soft Rock
VA -- In the Beginning There Was Rhythm
The Plan breaking up is sad. I will check out their NYC show, might as well see them one last time. I've seen them well over a dozen times in all.
