my big fat greek life good or bad?

I haven't seen the movie, nor one frame of the tv show. That said, television programs based on movies are rarely much good ("Buffy" is the one exception I can think of). This one does have the advantage of retaining most of the original cast, which is a plus. But I think the whole "We're Greek, aren't our customs funny to you, White Guy Who Married Into Our Family" thing will grow old quick.

It strikes me as a bad idea that may even tarnish the film; but with good writing, it could very well work. While only retaining some of the cast, it seems the people behind the scenes are fairly well in tact, and while I'm sure he's only there to support his wife, Hanks is gold when it comes to producing television shows. I dunno ... could really go either way. My guess is it will be a hollow shell of the film, and even if it's well done, I think the concept will wear thin, but I'm certainly keeping an open mind.

isn't the only person missing the husband? this isn't why i don't think it will succeed. i think the gimmick of the movie is done well within the movie, but the gimmick will not go well to the small screen, as most people, even the fans will get tired of it fast.
