Age Of Mythology (PC) - Worth Getting???

Okay, I'm sitting here with a $15 gift certificate to Fry's Electronics in one hand, and a Fry's Electronics ad in the other hand that states that they have "Age Of Mythology - COLLECTOR'S EDITION" for $19.99. I don't know when the sale ends, but I might cruise on over tonight or tomorrow morning.

I downloaded the trial/demo and it seems pretty cool, but it also seems kind of redundant to most strategy games : chop wood, fetch food, etc. which I might be getting burnt out on. So for those that have this game, is it the same thing as every other strategy game or are there enough unique things going on that be worth buying and spending time with it?

I just went to Fry's today to pick up the game. I think for $19.99 it's worth it. All the time and material probably cost more than $19.99!!

Wow, I'm amazed the Collectors Edition (the game in general) is that cheap already - even if it is a sale. The game only came out 2 1/2 months ago after a long dev cycle and it's a great game.

I picked up a copy at Fry's since the extras alone seem to be worth that.

Okay I bought it. There was only 2 left! I have no idea why they were selling it so cheap, cheaper than what they were selling the regular version of it. Maybe no one was buying it so they were just blowing out inventory.

The campian mode is pretty cool. I'd pick it up if I didn't have it allready

Good through Tuesday, January 21, 2003. All Fry's Electronics ads that come out on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, always seem to expire on the coming Tuesday.
