70's Blaxploitation question.

In the song "Be Thankful For What You Got" by William De Vaughn, in the chorus he sings the often sampled line of "Diamond in the back, sun-roof top, diggin' the scene with my gangsta lean".

My question is this: What the hell is a "diamond in the back"? I'm guessing it's referring to an automobile (maybe those old school Caddilacs with the spare wheels on the back of the car?), but I have no idea.

Any guesses?

C'mon soul brothas and sistas! Can you dig it?
