I hope they'll accelerate release of the movie on DVD.

Speaking as someone who only recently saw BR for the first time, I express my condolances to all his fans and fans of the new Japanese cinema. There are too few film artists who take those kinds of chances with the movies they make.

It should also be noted that Fukasaku directed all the Japanese scenes in TORA! TORA! TORA!, which were the best part of the movie, IMHO. Of course he has also helmed many other noteworthy projects too.

FYI, the BR2 teaser trailer was released over here: http://www2.toei.co.jp/battleroyale2/

(When they say teaser, they mean it. It's like 15 seconds long)

skokefoe.

Very sad... hopefully BR2 will be worthy of Fukasaku's name.
