Proof that the producers of Fastlane are getting desperate (starts Jan 17)

ew.com
Calling all guys: Fox's ''Fastlane'' will get freaky in mid-January when it pits Tiffani Thiessen's Billie against a lesbian criminal! In a Jacuzzi! Wearing practically nothing!

Luring more male viewers wasn't the writers' primary goal (though ''Fastlane'' could use the help in that category, since it ranks only No. 40 among all shows watched by men ages 18 to 49): By sending Billie undercover to catch a gay burglar (''Not Another Teen Movie'''s Jaime Pressly), the ''Fastlane'' writers can finally explore her sexuality. ''We want to hint at something in Billie's character -- is she bisexual because she's doing her job, or is she a lesbian?'' teases exec producer John McNamara, who says Fox's standards and practices department gave them major leeway to tell the story (so look for plenty of making out). ''One thing about the show that's worked is that it is not afraid to be outrageous when it needs to be outrageous.''

No I'm serious, I personally hate this show and wouldn't want to go back no matter what they do to try to make the show "interesting" I hope that this ploy doesn't work and that the show gets canceled after this.

I thought you were going to say that Ted McGinley was going to be joining the show.

Oh as for this latest plot development, I am not complaining.

Stupid Joss, if he would have figured out all he had to do was put Zoe and Inara in a hot tub Firefly would still be on the air.

Man... does everyone hate this show? I have paid little to no attention to it's ratings. Personally, I really enjoy it. Maybe I'm the only one. I've never claimed my taste in things was supurb but I think it's a lot of fun, for a cheesy, suspending-your-belief, Vice-esque hour of action dramedy.

I don't know, maybe I miss the escapism of eighty's television, but with all the push to be the most gritty and real and "in yo' face" out there I like the chance to go away and have a silly adrenelain rush every week. I think many people have forgotten how much fun A-Team and Knight Rider were and now they are key nostalgia points despite their gaping flaws and plot holes.

Sue me. I think it's a cool show.

Probably due to strict standards, the best you could hope for is a little bit of kissing. There is however according to the picture from the article a hot tub scene but I doubt we will see anything.

The show is comical but I need a show like this in my line up. One that I can yell at the screen that something is not believeable or to point out the plot holes. Its good TV cheese. I compare it to an Ahnuld summer blockbuster. Not your best acting or story but worth the time to watch.

The show isn't really that bad, I watch it every now and then. I always wondered why they didn't give Theissen more screen time, she's barely in each episode for more than a minute or two.

uh bump. Even though I know its just a way to get teen boys to watch, I might tape it tonight. (also mods, change the thread title to something like "Lesbians on Fastlane tonight 1/17/02!")

OH brother. The show looks like a Fast and the Fursious retread and thats enough for me not to watch it.
If they had really wanted to be bold they would have two males doing it.
Please cancel this show.

This show is all flash and no substance..It's like watching a 2 hour music video..I hate the director too!!

He goes by the name McG I think..Some guy trying to be hip and cool..He did Charlie's Angels which also sucked!

I have never watched a single second of this show. I was lucky enough to be flipping through the channels last night and paused long enough to notice they were both naked in a hot tub, it was pretty obvious they were going to kiss. The pause was worth it for me, but now I can go back to not watching this show.

I watched this last night for the kiss and the fact that there is nothing else on at the same time.

I thought it was hilarious how Bill Bellamy and the other guy showed up at places the 2 girls were valeting at with 2 different cars with different registrations and addresses and then show up again as Tiffini's husband and a repo guy and in a matter of a few day the 2 girls still can't figure it out, yet they see a random diaper van twice and they get freaked out.

I also loved how they pulled the idea that the valets were behind it out of nowhere.

Joseph McGinty (MacGinty?). He reportedly refuses to respond to his given name. Only to "McG".
