Deus Ex Rules!

My brother passed this PC game onto me, and I finally beat it tonight. All I can say is wow. This was one that completely slipped under my radar, so the first time I played it I expected it to be akin to Thief. However, it turned out to be as entertaining as system shock, and without the annoying puzzles to solve. Literally every mission had multiple ways to solve it. This is a GREAT first person RPG. Very open ended too. I am thinking about playing it again as a pure hand to hand stealth character.

First Person RPG? I've never heard of that. Could you explain the plot of this game more? I've seen it in bargain bins a few times, but never picked it up. Sounds interesting.

Guh... Deus Ex is a FPS with elements of RPG. Your character can improve his skills and defenses as you progress. The game has great graphics and a good (but convoluted) story. It was Game of the Year on a few lists for the year it came out. I loved it and I'm anxious for Deus Ex 2 (even more so since I saw it at E3).

Deus Ex is a great game. Huge replay value. If you haven't played it yet, what are you waiting for?

Hell yeah Deus Ex rules. I've played through it 4 times, maybe more. There's so many different ways to accomplish your goals as well as upgrade and arm your character that no 2 times through the game have to be very similar at all. There's also plenty of extra stuff to see/read/do/find/acquire/kill/etc.

anyone tried this with winXP?
It runs fine on XP.

to finish splinter cell (last level), Buffy (also last level), Jak and Daxter (54%) and have Metroid Prime, SMSunshine and Eternal Darkness on the shelf with LOTR:TTT on its way.... 24 hours is just not enough time in one day

My Deus Ex is sitting here beside me along with Max Payne. Both still sealed and in line to be played a some point.... SO glad to hear Deus Ex will work with winXP

If you haven't played this game yet, you are wrong. Track it down before it vanishes from shelves & bargain bins... it's easily one of my top ten games. And Deus Ex 2 can't come soon enough.

Deus Ex is one of the greatest, for sure. In fact, it's the most recent great PC game.. I've been pretty bored with my PC for the last couple years after Deus Ex. Hopefully Deus Ex 2 will meet my expectations.

I'll bite, where is a good place to find this puppy still around and cheap? I have some free time today, maybe I'll give a go.

I've seen it in the cheap-o jewel case rack in a number of stores: Best Buy, CompUSA, Fred Meyer. It's usually about $10, easily worth it.
