Stars Salute Jennings On Tribute Disc

Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, and Metallica lead singer James Hetfield are among the artists slated to appear on a forthcoming Waylon Jennings tribute album. Due in March, the RCA set will include one of the late country great's last recorded songs, the piano balled "The Dream," as well as selections from his vast catalog recorded by the likes of Alison Krauss, Dwight Yoakam, and John Mellencamp.

As reported by Billboard earlier this year, journalist Hazel Smith will executive produce the project. Smith is working with RCA Label Group VP of A&R Renee Bell to oversee the album. Each artist will produce and deliver their own track for the collection.

Jennings died Feb. 13, 2002 at the age of 64 after a long battle with diabetes-related health problems. He recorded 60 albums and had 16 No. 1 singles on Billboard's country charts during a career that spanned five decades.
The 16-track Waylon tribute album includes:

Country Stars Pay Tribute To Hank Jr.

A truckload of country musicians and southern rockers have banded together to pay tribute to hard-working outlaw icon Hank Williams Jr. on "The Songs of Hank Williams Jr. (A Bocephus Celebration)," due Feb. 11 from Curb Records. Trick Pony, Montgomery Gentry, Alan Jackson, .38 Special, and Lynyrd Skynyrd are among the artists contributing cuts to the collection.

The only two previously released tracks on "A Bocephus Celebration" are Jackson's "The Blues Man" and a version of "A Country Boy Can Survive" by Chad Brock with special guests John Anderson, George Jones, and Williams Jr. himself. The remaining 14 songs are unique to the collection, highlighted by a take of "Outlaw Reward" credited to Hank Williams Jr. and friends. It features a harmony chorus with many of the album's artists as well as harmonica accompaniment by Stevie Wonder.

The 16-track Hank Williams Jr. tribute album includes:
