Scrubs 1/02/02

I see there's a Good Morning, Miami thread and no Scrubs thread! I can't let that go on

It was a good episode, though they are stepping into dangerous territory having JD fall for Elliot. But again, great use of music! This show does as good as anyone as far as picking great songs to enhance the show. For those who didn't know "Tell Her" is done by Del Amitri and is on the CD Twisted, which also contains their one big hit "Roll To Me" (The video had the singer's head superimposed on a baby's body as a beautiful woman pushed him around in a stroller while he sang the song)

Anyway, back to Scrubs. I can deal with the JD and Elliot drama so long as it doesn't take over the show like Ross and Rachel have done in the past to Friends.

So was this a new episode? I thought that it might be so I taped it, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

I'm pretty sure it was from last year. Notice how the intro was last year's intro? Glad I caught it, though, because it was one I had missed.

It was new.

Remember the last new episode when JD had "male" problems and things were solved at the end when he and Elliot had their romp?

This episode picked up where that one left off. JD even mentions that his "male" problem was taken care of.

Are you sure that one wasn't from last year, too? If it was new, why was the intro last year's intro?

They mix the intro between last year's and this year's for the episode this year.

The episode was new because Elliott's financial problems are from Season 2 (this season).

Elliott and JD will only be annual F-buddies (otherwise, it does get rather mundane and predictable all too soon).

I believe they use the "short intro" when Friends runs overtime. That's just my theory though.

Another great episode. I'm curious to see if they deal with the fallout between JD and Turk.

One of my favorite things about the show is the friendship between JD and Turk. Reminds me so much of how I was in college, living with other guys. Always loved Joey/Chandler stuff on Friends for the same reason.

I mean, we DUCT TAPED speaker wire to the ceiling.

You are correct - in fact the longer intro has hardly been used at all since they first debuted it this season as NBC was trying to bilk as much advertising money out of Friends as they could in its final season. I wonder if it will go back to being an even 30 minutes now that they're returning for another season.

Overall, it was a great new episode. Glad the Elliot/JD thing got resolved. Surprised there was no reference to New Year's Eve though since the previous episode happened at Christmas. I loved Dr. Cox passing out the "feelgoods".

If by fallout you mean when Turk said "Where's the love? You know, when you side with the one you care about the most? Ohhh...that is what you're doing." I wasn't quite sure whether Turk was pissed at him or was just trying to get JD to see that Elliot was more than a sex-buddy (far off stare, angelic music ,etc.) to him. I thought it was more of the latter and maybe he was a little pissed at him, but not anything that wouldn't get taken care of quickly.

JD and Turk are a great team, but that's true of the whole cast in general. I loved the heart to heart between Elliot and Dr. Cox.

If you put the work out that Dr. Cox is handing out the feelgoods, I'll make you pay. Big time

So Friends was a rerun, but Scrubs and Good Morning Miami were new? What the hell NBC? This sucks because I work nights and have to tape the shows to see them.

P.S. This was episode 212, and next week is 211... that comes directly from NBC.com.

This episode was actually 211 - My Sex Buddy. From the Scrubs official site. Next week's is 212 - My New Old Friend.

Weird, maybe they renumbered them because NBC has it the other way around.

This is one of my favorite shows on TV these days. I hope NBC releases some season sets on DVD soon.

I just had to put in my two cents about the Del Amitri song. I'm constantly impressed with the music on Scrubs. Although it doesn't work 100%, it does show that people are working to include some original, insightful tunes that actually push the plot along.

Buy Del Amitri's Twisted. It's a fabulous album.
