The Future is Wild

Is anyone else intrigued by this thing on Animal Planet? It's wild (heh) speculation about how animals will evolve in 200 million years. The preview keeps showing these little beetles with super soakers on their backs. I so want a super soaker beetle now.

The show airs on animal planet tonight around 8.

My 11-yr old daughter was really eager to see it (she had it marked on the calendar!), so her and I watched it last night.

She loved it. Me, on the other hand, thought it could have easily been an hour shorter. Basically it was just speculation on what would be living on Earth in 100 or 200 million years.

Some of the CG animation was decent, but some of it was kind of bad. They reused a lot of shots, too - or worse yet, just reversed the image so it looked like a different angle.

I saw it. Have studied evolution in college, it was particullarly interesting, but despite the fact it had a lot of scientists' help, it was all just imagination when it came down to it.

Loved the dino-turtles!

I liked it, it had some interesting ideas...some of which came from nowhere and suprised me.
