Amazon.jp just listed The Returner 2-Disc DTS LE set for those who are interested. Release date 3/07/03
Say's the Language is Japanese/English so I assume that means English Subbed.
Price should be discounted 15% within a week or so.

Yes, there will be English subtitles.
The movie has high production values, it's one of the better sci-fi Japanese movies without being too much like a live action or anime style flick.

Has anyone actually seen this movie? When I first saw the trailer for it I thought it looked really cool but than it came out and got "mixed" reviews so now I don't know if it's worth getting or not. Probably just wait for an HK release...but if anybody's ever seen it than I'm curious what you thought of it.

I saw it in theaters last year. I enjoyed it, it had great production value for a Japanese sci-fi movie. The interaction between the two main protagonist was just right. The plot isn't anything special, but that didn't bother me.
I hope to pick up the DVD this weekend...

with Takeshi Kaneshiro in this one, it'll surely end up as a HK release at some point. CDJapan lists the 2 disc version as being out of print (as well as out of stock). Better snap this up if you really really want it. CDJapan has the 1 disc version for about what Amazon has the 2 disc at.
