Mortal Kombat Trilogy on PS2

I'm interested in getting Mortal Kombat Trilogy (PSX version) for my PS2. However, I noticed at the Playstation web site that this game may not function properly in the PS2.

Does anybody have this game and know what's not normal about it on PS2?

thanks,
don

I have heard of this before, but I'm not sure what causes it. I have a copy of MKT, which is not the greatest hits version, and it plays perfectly on my PS2 (which is a launch machine). I'm not sure if the issue is just with the greatest hits version, but I also have a few greatest hits games which also play fine. I have not been able to try a greatest hits version of MKT.

on the continue screen, if you let the timer run out, the game will freeze

Yeah, mine works fine as well (it's not the gh version either). I've never let the timer run down though....
