Small flat screen or regular TV?
Hey all! Buying an X-Mas present this afternoon for the wife. Our bedroom TV is on its last leg so I was going to buy a new one - here's the question:
TV we have now is an old brand 17 inches - that is as small as I can see. I am looking at either a regular (non flat) TV at 19 inches or a flat screen at 14 inches. I never had a flat so I am wondering if it makes up for the 5 less inches in clarity, etc. They are about the same price so any feedback would help! Thanks!

If you're buying one that small I'd get the larger standard tube TV. I generally reccomend flat screens, but in your case it's not going to make up for the 5" if you have problems seeing it.

agreed. in that size, most all tv's look really good, just because of their small size. get a decent quality curved screen (panasonic or jvc), and save the cash. if 17" is too small now, going with a 14" will just be really nice and small :-) go with curved.
