How does this work? Is this for last season? I see The Sheild on there, but I thought season two hadn't even started. And the only reason I ask, is because it seems strange that The Simpsons (a great show that I love) would be nominated but not Malcolm in the Middle or Futurama, both of which were far better (IMHO) last season. Either way, it seems really weird to have an award half way through the current season for last season.

Because the main focus of the awards is on the movie stuff, the TV aspect is a victim of horrible timing.

The Golden Globes are just like the Oscars for movies and tv.
Whatever was shown from January 1st of the year - until the nods are considered
The Emmys have a cut off point in the middle of the year while the GG do the Oscar dating.

The Shield started in 2002. So it qualifies.

As for the Simpsons. I was shocked. But excited. It is a really great show.
