I was waiting on my car to get fixed so i picked up an copy of EW from a few weeks back. It mentioned that Wes Craven was going to start on a remake of PUlse(Kairo) after he finished a project with Kevin WIlliamson(woo-hoo). So i guess the RIng remake started a trend. I'm not a fan of remakes, especially being a film that is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. But i have to say i'm a little intrigued at an U.S. version directed by Craven.
I know Pulse doesn't have the following of Ringu, but i would credit it with being one of the greats when it comes to Asian horror. Right up there with Uzumaki, Audition, and Ringu.

Screw that! Craven should do something original for a change. The fact of the matter is that Hollywood simply cannot replicate the mood of these (once) unique horror films, let alone Kiyoshi Kurosawa's work.

I honestly would prefer them just to release the movies in the U.S. instead of giving second-rate remakes. And i do agree with you tyler, but i still cant help to be intrigued.

Because Joe Six Pack goes "Damn them foriegners and them thar movies... I aint paying my good ole US of A dollars on them!"
It's even worse if they're subtitled!
"Damn them writings on the scren it moves TO fast for me... and I done finished 6 grade when I were 20!"

Wes Craven is a worthless hack. He has done nothing worthwhile for horror. It seems he will miss the chance to drive a nail in the coffin of american horror yet again.
