Up till now, I've just stacked my HT components (dvd player, vcr, etc.) on top of the tv. However, I've just ordered a receiver and speakers and there just isn't any more room. I'm trying to find a rack system to house everything - I've looked at Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. but can't find anyone that carries them.
I'm looking for something good and sturdy, but not too expensive, and with enough room to hold a Dvd Player, Tivo, A/V Receiver, Vcr and directv receiver. Space is kind of cramped, but I'm trying to find something large enough to provide adequate ventilation. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Roy

If you like to build things, you could try building a flexi-rack. Here is an example of a flexi-rack (http://www.montac.com/ht/flexi/)

You just want a rack to hold all your components? Not a TV stand w/ room for components? I saw some gorgeous ones at Circuit City... they may be out of your price range, though. Wish I remembered their brand name... starts with a G, I think. I'll post if I find it.
Boltz has component racks, but they're outrageously priced. My speakers cost less than the racks they sell. (I have cheap speakers, but still.)
Edit: Found: Gusdorf racks. This (http://www.circuitcity.com/frame1.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0097202555.1040180972@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdeadchdefjedecfngcfkmdffhdffl.0&upper=head.jsp&lower=frame2.jsp&department=Furniture&category=Audio+Stands&right=productsearch.jsp&left=leftchildcat.jsp) should take you to Circuit City's audio rack page.
D300, very nicely done , i'm currently in the process of building my own component rack also using almost the same principle, i'll post my picks when complete.

Actually that's not my flexi-rack, mine looks better :) and not as tall. I just linked to that page because it had good instructions.

One word: Bello
Nice but very pricey.

He wants something "not too pricey." That rules Bello out immediately, IMO. :)

There's a pretty decent audio rack at OfficeMax. Room for 4 components, plenty of ventilation. Only $59 on sale and $79 regular price.

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions.
Does anyone have a link to the $59 rack at Office Max? I can't find it on their website. I have 5 components, but this would probably work since my Directv receiver is pretty small and ventilated on the top.
Thanks,
Roy

Try this link:

If it doesn't work, the rack is called: Galaxy Audio Stand and it is Item # 20207571.
The price on the web site is $79.98. Is the $59 sale price over? When did you see the rack on sale? Thanks.

these are some COOL looking racks but I think about how many WIRES my current entertainment center (with a back) HIDES and I have to wonder how to tidy all these wires up? suggestions? I will soon be going with an RPTV bordered by 2 stands holding components and DVds. seems like it will be a pain to hide all the wiring

I went to two different Office Max stores today and the rack was in their sale paper (the sale price ends today), so it must just be just an in-store thing. Unfortunately both stores I checked were out of stock.

You gotta get that cable tubing, which is slit down the side, and you can route cables out as needed from it. check that link to the flexi-rack above, and you'll see in the bottom set of pics what I mean...
and they have it cheap from parts express...

search for split loom tubing...it comes in different sizes.
