Does anyone here own this movie on DVD? is it worth a blind purchase? How are the special featurs etc? Is it in widescreen?

Great pick up if you love the old show.
The commentary is one of the best and funnest I have ever heard.
Both sound and video are great. The Movie in its original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and anamorphically encoded. The result, I have to say, is really sort of miraculous. It has new a 2.0 stereo track in addition to its original mono soundtrack. You will love both Sound and Video, just remember it is over 35 years old.
Read the dvdfile review, it says it all:

Feature that I have viewed on the Batmobile was very interesting.
The movie itself is GREAT...too funny and campy. I grew up on the TV show, so it has nostalgic value for me as well.
Will try to listen to the commentary soon based on above.
Finally, the "shark" special effects put Jaws to shame!!!

What they said. WELL worth the price (can be picked up for $15 most anywhere)--a true classic treated well on DVD.

This one should have you smiling from beginning to end - silliness raised to a near-art form.
