National Lamp. Christmas Vacation

Did anyone notice a tin-like sound to the effects in Christmas Vacation tonight on NBC? It was really apparent in some scenes like the sled scene and the explosion scene at the end of the movie. Reminded me of the sounds made by those toys a couple of years back that were basically a tube with a rubber band in it.

I forgot it was on and missed half of it, so rather than enjoying half of the movie, I popped in my trusty DVD and watched it all last night. I must have a first release of the DVD cause the quality is kinda crappy. Was a new version of Christmas Vacation pressed on DVD?

Guess not. Searched the forum and saw it was never re-released. Too bad. No widescreen or non-grainy versions. I should have recorded it from NBC last night. It would probably look better than the DVD on my 57" TV.

Naw. You're better off with the crappy DVD. I watched a little of it last nite on NBC, but turned it off after about 30 minutes. VERY sloppy "editing for TV."
