So...I've done efocus, then mfocus, and efocus again. Even after that the edges of the screen when looking at the blue grid in the service menu are out of focus with a painful amount of blooming. It's the worst around the left edge. Is there any way to fix this? It's making 64-point convergence almost impossible. And when watching movies a lot of objects have a blue halo around them on the left side of the screen.

Panasonic? You didn't list your set but it sounds like you have a Panny...

Personally, I dunno what else you can do... I can tell you that blue is the hardest color to get perfect focus on, it's not possible, but you should be able to get it looking pretty decent... You should post this over at hometheaterspot in the Panny forum or at Brett's Panny site, someone there might be able to help. I have a 47wx49e and while the blue focus is still a tad fuzzy, I managed to get it looking pretty good... This doesn't sound normal, might want to give Panny a call if all else fails (of course, you've been in the guts and the service menu, any warranty that you had/have may be voided).

How long have you had the set? Did you let it "settle" for the recommended 100 hours?

All CRT based RPTV's have the blue CRT purposely defocus a bit on the outter edges because the blue requires a much higher voltage to attain the brightness as well as focus that the other two CRT's require. So to get around this higher voltage requirement manufacturers slightly defocus the blue CRT which is really not noticable in regular viewing situations but allow the CRT to not require the added voltage.
