Which region 3 Miyazaki's films are anamorphic?

just bought a region free player and am ready to explore Miyazaki's universe. Does anyone know which, if any, of Miyazaki's films are anamorphic on reg 3. Coolashop.com seemed to have fairly good prices.

cheers, Tony Block

Also, what are some good sites besides Poker Industries to buy Asian, and especially Miike, DVDs.

Thanks to all in advance!

I'm pretty sure all of them are anamorphic, although not all of them are progressive scan.

Say what? You mean my DVD player doesn't dictate whether it does progressive scan or not? If a disc says no, it means no?

Depends on your player. NTSC video can be stored on a DVD in two ways: 30 fps interlaced video, and 24 fps 'film'. The 24fps is actually broke down into 48 interlaced fields, but every two fields combine to make one complete frame of film. These are the discs that DVD players have the easiest time making progressive frames from, and so these discs are labeled 'progressive' DVDs. Most major Hollywood new releases are this type.

I know that 'deinterlacers,' either built into the TV or sold externally, will take a 30fps video feed and use complex algorithms to try and make complete frames. However, due to the nature of interlaced video, the level of success can vary. I'm not sure if DVD players also do deinterlacing though.

DVDASIAN.COM is a top notch site... You might pay a bit more than some of the out of Country sites, but their service is excellent and they have a great selection.
