Dragon Ball Z Budokai: Is it as bad as they say?
This new DBZ game that came out on Wednesday has gotten some pretty mediocre reviews. IGN gave it a 6.2 and GameSpot.com game it a 6.9. It seems game play suffers from a too simplistic fighting engine, or so they say.
I'm really I'm not sure how many fans of the series there on this board, but has anyone gotten a chance to try this game out for themselves?

I think it's getting low scores becuase it's a 2 button mash-a-thon game but supposedly the game play and graphics exceed the previous attempts at a DBZ game. Like Robotech:Battlecry the fans will enjoy the game the most. As a stand-alone fighter it deserves the low scores compared to the current competition.

From what I've read it seems like they are going in the direction of making this a "Mortal Kombat Z" game if you get my drift.
The idea probably was to keep it simple enough for younger children to play but it seems like the audience for DBZ is "older kids", meaning early teens.
