I was thinking of seeing this but that woman playing Virginia Woolf is damn ugly.

Last year, they picked Moulin Rouge.
Must have a thing for Nicole Kidman. This film looks really interesting if it doesn't put me to sleep. Did Nicole Kidman undergo lots of make-up or lack thereof for this? She doesn't look at all like she normally does.

I truly hope you know that Nicole Kidman plays Virginia Woolf.
But I am going to take your post as you really do know.
I want to see this film.

Fake nose and has "ugly makeup" on to make her uglier.

I heard they beat her with the ugly stick :)
On the one hand this looks good. On the other hand, last year National Board of Review PICKED MULAN ROUGE!!?!?! What were they smoking? Boy are they going to regret that!

Oh dear lord, I read The Hours last year, and I hated it. This was in a literature class, after having read Mrs. Dalloway, and The Hours just seemed like a bad gimmick. I heard they were making a movie about it, and I couldn't believe it. The only reason this movie could possibly be any good is because there's no way it could be worse than the book. Regardless, I will not be seeing it.

The National Board of Review was is and will remain a joke.
That being said, it doesn't mean this is not a good film.

Who is "The National Board of Review" anyways? Are they print critics? What city are they from? They seem to make a point of always going first.

They're basically a little knitting circle/coffee klatch who have managed to coerce studios into showing them films early and letting them hobknob with stars. They hold no coin among serious critical or industry groups and have been slimed in entertainment journalism far and wide.

Are the members mostly women, their tastes certainly seem to run that way?
