Other music forums?

Are there music forums out there that have this same format (this is my favorite forum software) but that focus solely on music?

What other music forums / message boards do you visit?

Hi folks.

I am looking for a few more message boards to visit and wondering what other boards that the members of dvdtalk visit.
Some of the boards I visit includes:

www.altcountrytab.com (Alterntive Country and Rock Music)
www.viachicago.com (A board focusing on Wilco)
www.hometheatreforum.com (They have a Music forum like dvdtalk)
www.netphoria. org (Focuses on Smashing Pumpkins but has a general music forum as well)

Never heard of altcountrytab or viachicago before, but I'll definitely check 'em out. Thanks for the info.

To answer your question, this is really the only forum I go to...

The altcountrytab website is really good -- I'm surprised, Gdrlv, that you hadn't heard of it.

I also check out (occasionally) the board at www.soundopinions.net. It's associated with a radio show in Chicago, so in case you can't get enough Wilco talk anywhere else, here's your place...

But this is the forum I spend 95% of music forum time on.

All Hip Hop
Underground Hip Hip

But only because most people here "don't like rap (or even respect it as an "art form")"

www.930.com has a fun music forum, mostly about DC clubs, music and other stuff.

Entertaining general forum. You might think of it as a Nirvana site based on the name, but the Nirvana forum is horrible.

The viachicago one is really cool; I go there pretty often for Wilco info. Also, Velvet Rope . I don't post there at all, and I rarely go there. I always wind up getting mad at the stupid music snobs that post there. You just think this forum is bad.

SAShepherd, Thanks for the heads up on soundopinions.net... I'm listening to a Paul Westerberg interview right now and that is very cool.

Are there any other good music forums?

I am always up for a good music discussion, but there are few good active boards out there on the net (besides this one of course)

Anyone point me in the direction of some?

Mostly newer alternative.

I don't know if you are familiar with Sirius radio, but if you are, the kind of stuff they play on Left of Center (interpol, postal service, snow patrol, etc)

I also listen to some of the classic alternative (like Nirvana, etc.) some early 80's and late 70's punk (but not too much... mostly stuff like the Minutemen) etc.

Basically, anything but prog rock, country, classical or rap really.

For those into Hiphop, but not too much of the mainstream type, try the forum at www.philaflava.com
They also have subforums with several other topics.
