Anyone know when the Ruscico DVDs of Sadko and/or Ilya Muromets are finally going to see the light of day? They've been postponed so many times I've lost count, and last I heard were supposed to be released around the end of 2002 -- which I'm guessing might mean right about now.

...not yet... not yet... but soon... perhaps... or not... (with RUSCICO one never really knows)...
...of course, there are a lot of other titles already available!... have you seen Agony ? ... Father Of The Soldier ? ... Come And See ? ... The Vij ?
The Cranes Are Flying ? ... Pirates Of The 20th Century ? ... to name a few that are in my 'collection'...
. . . :o . . .

Thanks for the "update," Hendrik. Ruscico's web site has long been claiming "Last Quarter 2002" as the release date for these much anticipated (at least by me) titles, but I guess we'll just have to see what actually happens...
As for your suggestions of other titles: I own (and greatly enjoy) all of those, with the exception of Agony and Pirates of the Twentieth Century. Are they on par with the others?

"Agony" is the first Russian (Soviet, actually) movie to feature Rasputin, the 'Mad Monk' - it is a sumptuous production, directed by Elem Klimov of "Come And See" fame... and, imnsho, rather 'better' than a slew of other 'Rasputin' features, old and new, made over the years...
"Pirates" is an 'action' movie - the first Soviet film to feature Martial Arts - it was a huge success in the USSR when released, and makes for entertaining but not essential viewing...
