Damn! It's snowing in Buffalo and the Fins don't play that good in cold weather. Not to worry though Wannstedt has had a plan for this. The Fins surely shall prevail over the Bills of Buffalo and eliminate them from playoff contention.

I think San Diego is in trouble today. Denver whipped on us already, and we have some severe injury issues. Consistent we are not, so who knows which kind of San Diego team will show up. But not having Curtis Conway, and have Dwight hurt is not going to help the receiving game. Too much emphasis on LT running will mean that Denver will focus on stopping the run, which they can. Specially with our patchwork and banged up offensive line. They should force the Chargers to beat them with the passing game, and I don't think we can.

Their QB (assuming he starts which I think he will) used to play for the Jets where it's not balmy in December.

Cow, it's the Atlanta game, Culpepper hands it to Moss who passes it to Culpepper who gets the TD only to have a penalty called on some technicality. Now Atlanta has it at the 50 and will probably win.

Barely beating the worst team in the NFL makes you the best player in the NFL?

Terrell

But almost single-handedly beating them does. Vick is just unreal. Nobody else in the game can do what he does.

hey twikoff, how does it feel to have your team taken to the limit by the worst team in the NFL?

Who cares! A win is a win is a win! The NFL isn't college football. On any given day, anyone can beat you. Just ask the Packers who struggled today with the sucky Chicago Bears.

Why do some people get off on almost-wins and almost-losses? Regardless, I would argue that the Bengals and Seahawks are worse than the Vikings.

Btw, I think it may be time for martz to swallow his pride and put in Marc Bulger. Warner has not done anything terribly wrong, but the team has no spark with him at qb.

When you consider in reality that Atlanta is probably not nearly as good as they seem, it's amazing. They're not a bad team by any stretch, but they're not great either. Without Vick, the Falcons might just have a losing record. They need to draft some receivers and some O-linemen.

Regardless, I would argue that the Bengals and Seahawks are worse than the Vikings.

I would agree. Minnesota has far more weapons.

Huh, I'm just giving twikoff some crap and saying you really can't gloat a win like that. I thought Atlanta might be super bowl bound before this game, but then now I don't think so. Vick is good though! Just hope nobody lays a big hit on him when he's doing one of those runs and hurts him.

I don't think the Falcons are anywhere near good enough to go to the Super Bowl, but that's what makes what Vick and co. are doing now that much more impressive.

Gallant Pig
12-01-02, 04:04 PM
Yeah but then again who is going to beat them? Nobody in the NFC has really stepped up. I think the AFC is going to slaughter the NFC team in the super bowl. Vick *could* lead his team to the super bowl. If he somehow convinces the team to do the dirty bird after every touchdown, I think the magic could be there. ;)

Quake1028
12-01-02, 04:08 PM
What about the Bucs? A win tonight would be 10-2 and a 1 1/2 game lead over the Falcons, who they have already beaten. Don't count out Green Bay if they can get home field somehow.

I think you have your leagues confused... The AFC is a mess (parity, or whatever)...

NFC playoff picture is pretty clear. Green Bay, Philly, San Fran, and Tampa have stepped up.

Damn the Dolphins Defense, when your running back gets 200+ yards and you still lose :(

Really wishing New England had not traded Bledsoe within the Division.

Hopefully fiedler will get enough reps in practice this week and comeback next week since Miami needs someone on offense other than Ricky Williams

Dolphins Defense was pathetic! But then again they always play soft on the road. It's a real shame though,Ricky Williams had the best game of his career with 228 yards and 2 td's and they still lost.:( Poor guy. It's all the defense fault. Giving up all those big plays. They always lose it for us. Man i hope the Jets lose tommorow night or else it'll be a three-way for first. This does not look good for the Dolphins 7-5 with everyone else in the division tied or 1 game back from them.I hope some people get fired if they don't make it to the playoffs.

Too bad the Bucs lost. So now, they're tied the Packs for first place. Packs have two tough game left in their schedule, 49ers and Jets on the road. There's no reason why the Bucs cannot win their remaining four games. Bucs fans better cheer for Niners and Jets.

Terrell

I don't think the Falcons are anywhere near good enough to go to the Super Bowl, but that's what makes what Vick and co. are doing now that much more impressive.

I agree. After all, Vick is 91% of the Falcon's offense. Without Vick, Atlanta may very well have a losing record. I think they can be very dangerous, and can maybe get as far as the NFC championship. But no farther. My guess is they get to the second round. They need more WRs and OL.

Gallant Pig
12-03-02, 03:36 AM
Yeah you guys need the receivers of Falcon past. Where's the Andre Rison's and Deion Sanders'? Could be a scary team if you bulk up the defense, get a good running back, and then add a good wr or two.

Terrell
12-03-02, 01:44 PM
I think the defense is okay for right now. They've played very well. Only a few games have they stumbled. Overall, the D only needs a few tweaks here and there.

But Vick's offensive line doesn't protect him all that well. The Falcon's receivers can't consistently get open. They have no real deep threat. They also drop a lot of balls. 3-4 TD passes have already been dropped this year, as well as numerous first down passes. So that seems to be the priority.

Atlanta's strengths are obvious.

QB
RB
TE
DB
DL

Those are the strengths. What they need is a few LBs to go with Brooking. Where Atlanta has really been successful this year is getting pressure on the QB, stopping the run, and getting some TOs.

Red Dog
12-03-02, 06:00 PM
Atlanta has a very good defense to go along with Superman. I think they are capable of beating anyone in the league. They are on a run - maybe too soon but look at the last 2 champions...they both went on huge runs to end the regular season. The "come out of nowhere" scenario seems to be in vogue now.
