Favorite Phish songs and covers

What are your favorite originals and covers?

Mine...

Originals
Run Like an Antelope - Everyone says "YEM" defines Phish. I understand and agree with that, but this song defines Phish for me. They could play this tune at every show, and I wouldn't care.

The Moma Dance - I hate the version on Story of the Ghost* and felt a bit indifferent about the live version for years. Then, they played it in Vegas on 9/29/00, and it just clicked with me...great version and since then, I can't get enough of it.

Weekapaug Groove - Love all of Mike's Groove, but the finale just sends it over the top.

Halley's Comet - I love when the boys harmonize, and this song regularly has a great jam.

Strange Design - Of all their short songs and all their slow songs, this is my favorite in both categories.

Covers
Loving Cup - Just an amazing way to end a show.

Ya Mar - Will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was the first song of the first set at the first show I ever saw...

Crosseyed & Painless - Particularly the version with Carl Perrazo from 11/2/96. The Crosseyed -> Antelope at that show is absolutely amazing.

Gold Soundz - They only played it once, and they didn't play it very well. However, it was really cool to hear my favorite band cover a song from my other favorite band in my hometown...

Jesus Just Left Chicago - ...and I don't even like ZZ Top.

Least favorites
Prince Caspian - I hate this song. I mean I really hate it. I realize it's not their most popular song anyway, but I get actively angry when they start this tune. I've tried to get over my dislike, but I just can't, so all I can do is hope they don't play it at shows I attend.

Meat - ...and I usually like Mike's songs too.

Those are the only two tunes I really don't like at all.

*In fact, while I like almost every song on SOTG live, I pretty much dislike the entire disc. Just don't like the production on that album at all.

least favorite covers:
loving cup (only cause i've heard it WAY too much)

hard for me to think of any more in this category at the moment.

wow.. that list is prolly way too long, but with a band like phish, with hundreds of songs, and having seen them 79 times, it's tough to make that list short!

btw - what do you guys think of the new tunes? i've heard walls of the cave and radio edits of friday and 46 days. none of them really do much for me... friday is definitely my least favorite out of the 3; 46 days prolly my favorite.. but... i dunno...

"an album thrown together in 4 days by a band who hasn't played together in 2+ years?! just what i wanna hear!"

we'll see....
