i think the list sucks for one thing. celine number 3??? come on, lets get it on should be #1 hands down. number 2 should be unforgettable with nat king cole and natalie cole, and number 3 should be you are so beautiful to me by someone.

also why is sweat child o mine on this list? and yes it might not techinacly be a love song but "graduation (friends forever) by vitamen c should be on this list.

I don't know what's worse...this list or the fact that Jennifer "look at me I got boobies" Love Hewitt hosted it...

Did they say who voted on this list...?

Let's Get It On is the Marvin song that people single out when they're trying to show their "knowledge" of soul. Marvin has more than a couple tunes that bury that song.

As far as Unforgettable...well, let's just say that Natalie should've left the coffin in the grave. I'm not a big fan of contemporary pop stars karaokeing to classic tunes. [Celine is another culprit]

Of course, I realize in the grand scheme of things this list means nothing, but a little rant every now and then isn't a bad thing...

Not to pile on, but my first thought whaen I saw the thread's title was:

"Jennifer Love Hewett should consider a new career as a mime."

Ugg! I watched a little bit of this and had to turn the channel. Most of these songs are garbage. This is easily the worst top 100 list VH1 has done. Very forgettable list.

Uh, freakin' hell, what?! Where are U2's "With or Without You", "All I Want is You", "One" or "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)"? What a crock...

Focuses way too heavily on newer songs to have any merit as a list. Can somebody please explain to me how Journey and Aerosmith rank higher than Frank Sinatra or Marvin Gaye???

My sense is that this list should be understood as "The 100 Greatest Love Songs from the VH-1 Generation"; otherwise, the old crooners would've devoured the list. I'm not judging their approach either way, just stating what I think their M.O. was...now back to the U2 omissions travesty!

As this list ignored Nilsson's "Without You", I lift my left leg up and leave my stain on it.

The best part about "... of all time" lists is not one damn person on the planet ever agrees with the list!

this is all subjective bunk!

although, as long as we are offering our critiques:

Let's Get It On should, as Rypro said, be number 1. although, in contrast to Rypro, i think Sweet Child O'Mine should've been higher. a fantastic song.

Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" should be in the lowest quarter of songs - even though i despise the song, i can see it fitting on this list.

U2 definitely should've had a song on there. The Eagles too.

Eminem's "Kim" should also be on there...
