Celine Dion is ruining my wedding
I am getting married in a little over a year and our wedding song is "At Last" by etta james.
Yesterday my fiance heard a cover of it from Celine Dion on the radio. Now if it blows up like every other celine dion song, people are going to think i am refering to that song when the band plays it. i dont need another titanic theme, and especially not for my wedding.

We didn't have a song, we just had music playing in the background the whole time. Instead of hiring a DJ, we got a friend who owns a PA system to set it up, and then we just burned 3-4 hours of our selected tunes onto the cd's, stuck them into a cd changer, and hit play. Cheap, easy, and there was no chance that music we did not want on there would be played.
I sympathize about the Celine Dion thing. Fortunately my wife, although she sometimes likes that kind of thing, didn't want to play music that you hear at every wedding, so we were saved from all of the popular wedding songs. We wanted all of our songs to be songs that we have never heard at a wedding. I was even to able to sneak alot of my stuff on there, like U2, Travis, Faith No More (doing Lionel Richie), Phil Collins, etc.

I would veto that with all the power I have. Earlier this year when we got married we sat down and picked out some good songs and made 3 discs to just let the stereo play in our church.
Nothing crazy, but it was at least more listenable (U2, Cranberries, Air, UB40 for starts). Glad my wife hates Celine-type stuff as much as I do.

That's too bad. Maybe, if it's not too late, you could change the song to Il Mio Cuore Va by Sarah Brightman.

Yes it is blown out,
but it is a classic, and when I our parents found out they were
so pleased.
One thing we wanted was to not have
a current song as our song. those fade.
Maybe i can get terrance and phillips
to help me out

Man, at our wedding for some reason we forgot about getting music together until the last minute. Ended up great though as we ended up with a mix of songs as varied and KISS, The Doors, Frank Sinatra, Big Bad Vodoo Daddy, Motown, and just about every other genre. It was great.
